Sewing for Menstruation Matters: Learn to Sew Reusable Period Pads

£7.50

Sewing for Menstruation Matters

Reusable Pad Making Workshop
Saturday 7th February

Join us for a special morning of sewing with purpose as we partner with Menstruation Matters to raise awareness around period poverty and support people in our local community.

Menstruation Matters is a Sheffield-based charity helping those within our community who experience period poverty by providing free menstrual products to those who need them. This workshop is one small, practical way we can support that work together.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to sew reusable period pads using the charity’s approved pattern and materials.
You’ll keep the pads you make, giving you a sustainable alternative to disposable products, and the confidence to continue making them at home if you wish.

We’re running two one-hour sessions on Saturday 7th February:

  • Session 1: 10:00–11:00 (6 spaces)

  • Session 2: 11:30–12:30 (6 spaces)

All materials and instructions are provided, and the session is suitable for beginners as well as more experienced sewists.

How to Take Part

To join the workshop, we ask each participant to bring a donation of sanitary products (pads, tampons, or similar).
These will be passed directly to Menstruation Matters to help support those who menstruate and are experiencing period poverty.
(Pads for a pad!)

There is also a £7.50 fee per person to cover venue and running costs. This helps keep the workshop accessible while allowing us to run it sustainably.

Who Is This For?

This workshop is open to everyone, including those who menstruate, those who don’t, and anyone who wants to learn, support a good cause, or sew with purpose. No prior sewing experience is needed.

This is a chance to:

  • Learn a practical, confidence-boosting sewing skill

  • Make reusable period pads to take home
