from £48.00

Bags Galore September 2025! The Ultimate Bag Making Series!

Delve into the depths of bag-making techniques in this Sheffield-based sewing series! Kicking off with an extension to my favourite beginners project - a simple lined toted bag, we will level it up by adding an internal letterbox zipped pocket and making our own straps for the bag. The next session we will start to use heavier, more hardwearing fabrics along with heavy-duty interfacing to create a mult-pocketed project bag - perfect for storing your current sewing project along with all the tools you need ro complete it. The final project in the series, run over 2 sessions, is a fully-lined roll top rucksack with a handle, front zipped pocket, a top zip closure, adjustable straps and an internal patch pocket.

In each session (2 for the rucksack) we will work on individual projects and you will have a completed bag to take away with you at the end. All materials are provided.

These Sheffield based sewing class is designed to cover a range of bag-making skills including:

  • Creating an pocket with a letterbox zip

  • Making Bag Handles

  • Creating structure with Interfacing

  • Adding external pockets

  • Boxing out corners

  • Addind a zipped closure to the top of a bag

  • Creating adjustable straps

All of the techniques you learn will give you an understanding of the different features of bags and how they are put together. Giving you the tools to go ahead and ‘mix’n’match’ in your future projects and designs. Don’t worry if this is all new to you, I’ll be there to help every step of the way!
